Koşul bağlaçları
If'siz Koşul: unless, provided that, as long as, in case, otherwise
unless = if not (… olmadıkça): 'A hotel should not be built unless there is a proven need.' provided / providing (that), as long as, so long as, on condition that: … şartıyla. in case: … ihtimaline karşı (önlem). otherwise / or else: aksi hâlde. Devrik koşul: 'Had I known' = If I had known, 'Were I you' = If I were you, 'Should you need' = If you should need.
YDS Tuzağı: 'unless' zaten olumsuzluk içerir; 'unless there is not' çift olumsuzdur ve genellikle anlamı bozar. 'in case' koşul değil önlem bildirir: 'Take an umbrella in case it rains.'
